European Joint Theory/Experiment Meeting on Membranes (EJTEMM)
The EJTEMM conference, organized by Prof. Veronika Kralj-Iglič and Prof. Aleš Iglič, focuses on membrane research, particularly in living organisms, bridging nano/micro-scale discoveries to global ecosystem behaviors through interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary approaches. It emphasizes intertwining theoretical models—which provide predictable insights into complex living systems—with advanced experimental technologies to foster knowledge exchange, new ideas, and future collaborations.
Gabriella Pocsfalvi, coordinator of FarmEVs, will deliver a dedicated talk on the project, showcasing plant cell culture platforms for extracellular vesicle production.
Various FarmEVs members and PIs currently on Secondment in Ljubljana will present their cutting-edge research on membranes and extracellular vesicles, fostering interdisciplinary discussions.
Additionally, Sotirios Kiokias, FarmEVs Project Officer from the European Research Executive Agency in Brussels, will discuss EU research funding opportunities under Horizon Europe and MSCA Actions.

3rd Move Symposium
Estonia
FarmEVs at the 3rd MOVE Symposium
Dr. Gabriella Pocsfalvi, coordinator of the FarmEVs project, was invited as a keynote speaker and delivered a compelling lecture on “Extracellular Vesicles as Universal Nanocarriers: Bridging Plant Biology, Biotechnology, and the One Health Paradigm.”
In addition, two other FarmEVs Consortium members, Prof. Seppo Vainio and Prof. Veronika Kralj-Iglič, made significant contributions by presenting their latest achievements in the field of extracellular vesicles (EVs).
Their involvement highlights the FarmEVs project’s strong engagement in advancing EV research

Cultural events related to the 12th Socratic lecture
Ljubljana, Slovenia
“Socratic Lectures have early integrated visual arts and music with science and are open for other forms of art and achievements aiming at life-friendly world and excellence”, shared Prof. Veronika Kralj-Iglič.
The 12th Socratic Symposium, where FarmEVs project had a dedicated session “FarmEVs – different sourced extracellular vesicles and their potential” was accompanied by 2 satellite cultural events: the concert at the Julij Betteto Hall, Kazina, Academy of Music, University of Ljubljana, and the organ recital of Roberta Schmid from Napoli, Italy, at the Church of Assumption, Tromostovje.
Secondment of Dr. Feby Pratiwi at IBBR-CNR
Italy
Feby Pratiwi, a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Oulu, recently had the opportunity to expand her expertise in plant-derived extracellular vesicles (EVs) through her secondment at the Extracellular Vesicles and Mass Spectrometry (EVs-MS) laboratory at the Institute of Bioscences ans BioResources of the National Research Council of Italy IBBR-CNR in Naples, Italy. Her stay was centred on learning advanced techniques for isolating plant-derived nanovesicles and extracellular vesicles from raw organic bean and cell cultures, respectively.
