RESEARCH

FarmEVs project aims to take on the challenge of establishing plant extracellular vesicles farming systems within the One Health approach. FarmEVs will focus on the agriculture’s sustainability and seek innovative eco-friendly solutions.

Challenges

To establish efficient in vitro farming of plant Extracellular vesicles EVs. To develop novel organic vegetable-derived nanovector-based approaches for sustainable horticulture.

Solutions

We will develop green solutions for the isolation of plant – derived nanovesicles from organically grown plants. We will establish plant EVs – based molecular delivery system, which would enhance bioavailability and improve the efficacy and safety of loaded bioactive compounds. We will develop nano-biofertilizers and agro-nanotechnological EVs for the horticultural sector and antiinflammatory organic plant based EVs for human health.

Impact

The basic research activity of FarmEVs is related to the role of EVs in various plant physiological and pathological processes. This will be advanced by studying the the role of EVs in legume plantrhizobia symbiosis and the plantvirus interspecies interactions. This project will contribute to the potential use of EVs in the control of viral diseases and to enhance the mutualistic symbiotic effects on crops for beneficial innovation in modern organic farming.
